Registration, early voting and ID backbone

Nebraska requires voter identification for statewide elections. Election planning should therefore treat voter-ID readiness as a live operational variable rather than a side note.
Early voting
General-election early voting begins October 5, 2026. Ballot-request timing, ballot-return timing and county-level processing windows must be mapped as separate operational steps.
Registration deadlines

The Nebraska Legislature is not labeled Democratic or Republican in this dashboard. Blue/red legislative styling is used only to indicate primary winner and second-place qualifier, not party identity.
Exact district baseline
Congressional cards use exact 2024 presidential results by congressional district. Federal baselines are never approximated from statewide figures when district-specific results are available.
Off-cycle separation
Only the 24 regular even-numbered legislative districts plus the District 41 special election are active in 2026. The other districts are retained for continuity but explicitly marked off-cycle.
Current field first
Statewide and federal fields are presented as the current post-primary general-election field. If a primary winner is not in the November field, the dashboard does not invent a substitute nominee.
Judicial and local separation
Judicial-retention questions, local districts and county offices remain in their own structural layers rather than being duplicated across unrelated district pages.
